The single most common question we get is "what size dome do I need?" After two decades of dome builds — from intimate brand lounges to a 120-foot festival flagship — the answer always comes down to three numbers: your guest count, your format (standing, seated, or dining), and your build window. This guide gives you all three for every size we deploy.

How to read those numbers for your event

Standing capacity is your ceiling for concerts, activations and immersive walk-through experiences. Row seating fits presentations, screenings and dome-theater projection shows. Buffet assumes dining tables plus service lanes — the right number for weddings and galas. Cocktail tables is the sweet spot for corporate mixers and brand lounges.

A planning rule that has never failed us: if your guest count is within 15% of a dome's limit for your format, go up one size. Staging, bars, DJ booths, projection equipment and dance floors all eat capacity — a 200-person seated dinner is far more comfortable in a 50-foot dome than squeezed into a 44.

Matching size to event type

Don't forget the build window

Capacity gets the attention, but build time decides feasibility. If your venue only releases the site the morning of the event, a 20 or 30-foot dome (4–6 hour build) is realistic where a 90-footer isn't. For multi-day festivals, larger domes typically build one to two days ahead. We deploy from Southern California and travel worldwide — international and remote-site builds simply add freight lead time, something we've handled from Melbourne Music Week to the Black Rock Desert.
